Assembly Elections 2026 Live Updates: Voting for the high-stakes Assembly elections in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry will begin at 7 am today. In Assam, polling will be held for 126 seats today with over 2.50 crore voters eligible to exercise their franchise with 722 candidates in the fray. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA is seeking to win a third consecutive term. The Congress-led alliance includes Raijor Dal and CPI(M).

Likewise, for the 30-member Puducherry Legislative Assembly, 10,14,070 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise.

According to the Election Commission, voting will start from seven in the morning until six in the evening in all states. Elaborate security arrangements were made and polling materials, including electronic voting machines, were handed over to polling officers in Kerala, Assam and Puducherry.
