An Indian man named Anshul Kuncha was shot dead in the US while delivering pizza in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earlier this week. The accident occurred at midnight on Friday in North Philadelphia, according to local reports.

Someone ordered a pizza and then shot the delivery person in the head, leading to his death, CBS News reported.
Who was Anshul Koncha?
According to his LinkedIn profile, he was a data analytics professional with experience in healthcare data, product compliance, operations analysis, and data management.
He described himself as skilled in data analysis and data visualization software and as someone who was always eager to take on new challenges and opportunities for continuous skill development.

He earned his Master’s degree in Business Analytics from LeBow College of Business at Drexel University in Pennsylvania, USA, between September 2022 and March 2024. During his studies, he was awarded a LeBow Alumni Merit Scholarship and developed skills in SQL, advanced statistics, and analytics-related disciplines.
Prior to this, he earned a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Chemical Engineering from Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology in India, where he was also associated with the university’s football team. Professionally, he has worked as a data validation analyst in the United States, including roles at DataBank IMX and Validation Associates LLC, according to his profile. Earlier, he served as Data Management Coordinator at Echo Hospice.
He worked weekends delivering pizza.
Before moving to the US, he worked in India as a Senior Product Compliance Analyst at Amazon and held the positions of Operations Analyst and Senior Engineering Intern at Jio Platforms Limited. He also holds professional certifications from the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and has worked on projects such as forecasting Apple stock prices, according to his LinkedIn page.
What happened?
According to American media reports, Concha worked as a pizza delivery man on weekends as an additional source of income. He was called to deliver pizza to a vacant house at Raymond Rosen Homes, an apartment complex in Philadelphia.

In surveillance footage captured by the Philadelphia Housing Authority, the victim was seen walking with the pizza. Then he was followed by two people wearing dark clothes and carrying backpacks.
“It was a trap. It was to kill him. I don’t know what they gained from it or what their intentions were. They took my brother and killed him,” Concha’s sister told PTI, adding that his family was told that he was shot in the head three times and left on the road.
She added: “We have no doubt… it is a trap. According to American media reports, there appeared to be two gunmen wearing black masks and carrying backpacks.”
Anshul’s sister sought justice and appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return her brother’s remains.
She also shared a message for parents who are thinking of sending their children to the United States for further education and building their careers.
