While FTII said the re-test was necessitated due to “major operational disruptions at the Delhi centre” during the original entrance examination held on April 26, students have claimed that the paper was leaked.

Several videos going viral on social media show students claiming to have been given ‘copies’ of question papers at the Delhi center after a major delay in the exam.

In one of the videos, Associate Professor Mandar Dhirajkar, head of the Department of Animation and Visual Effects Design at FTII, who was an invigilator at the Begumpur center in Delhi, is seen telling students that the exam has been canceled and information will be given about the re-test.

When asked why the exam was cancelled, Professor Dhirajkar refused to give the reason, as seen in the video.

The Student Union condemns “serious violations”

The FTII Students Union issued a statement on social media, condemning what it called “gross misconduct and mismanagement” in the conduct of the entrance examination.

“Film and Television Institute of India Students’ Association has been notified that the integrity of the FTII 2025-2026 entrance examination has been compromised across multiple examination centres. FTIISA strongly condemns the gross misconduct and mismanagement that has been reported and documented, and ensures cooperation of the entire student body of FTII in arriving at a fair resolution of this matter,” the statement said.

I ordered a re-examination

On April 30, the FTII announced a nationwide rerun of the exam after the original exam was cancelled. The retest will be conducted on July 12.

According to the order, candidates who appeared for the April 26 exam can change their exam center to retake the exam through the FTII portal from May 25.

FTII JET Admit Card 2026 will be available for download from June 26, 2026 onwards.

NEET paper leak CBSE description

On May 12, the National Testing Agency (NTA) canceled the National Eligibility Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or NEET-UG, conducted on May 3 for admission to medical courses, following a leak of a paper under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

As for CBSE, the board introduced OSM on a large scale for Class 12 this year, replacing the system of publishing physical answer books for examinees with a more technology-focused system of scanned copies assessed on screen.

CBSE maintained that the system improves transparency and reduces overall errors.

But after the results were announced in mid-May, the grade 12 pass percentage fell to its lowest level in seven years, and students who applied for reassessment began reporting unclear scans, missing pages, unassessed answers and, in some cases, answer sheets that were not theirs.

CBSE issued a statement defending the OSM, calling it “fair, transparent and equitable”. He reiterated that it was possible to request a re-evaluation. Of the 98.6 lakh answer books assessed, CBSE’s own figures showed that 68,018 needed to be rescanned due to poor image quality, and 13,583 were scanned manually after failed scans.

When it all blew up, CBSE admitted the mistakes and said the vulnerabilities identified had been “contained”. She said that a cybersecurity team from the government and the Information Technology Institute has been deployed to fortify the system.
