The accident occurred at around 2.15 pm near Terminal 1, when the Acasa flight was leaving the platform, while the arriving SpiceJet flight was heading towards the platform.

The Acasa flight, QP-1406, was bound for Hyderabad, while the SpiceJet flight, SG-124, had just arrived from Leh. Information related to the incident was conveyed to all relevant officials.

An Acasa spokesman says the passengers and crew disembarked safely

In a statement issued after the incident, an Acasa Airlines spokesman said the company’s plane “was parked when it was contacted by another airline’s plane.”

“Akasa Air flight QP 1406 from Delhi to Hyderabad had to return to the Gulf on April 16, 2026…”, the spokesperson said, adding that all passengers and crew were safely offloaded after the minor collision. The airline further said that ground teams were making alternative arrangements “as soon as possible” to fly passengers to Hyderabad.

The spokesperson added: “In line with established protocols, the relevant authorities have been informed, and the matter is under investigation. At Acasa Airlines, the safety and security of our passengers and crew remains our top priority.”
