Direct All-Party Meeting: The government today reportedly called an all-party meeting on the ongoing conflict in West Asia that began after the US-Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. According to functionaries, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will chair the all-party meeting, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is expected to take stock of the situation to party leaders, HT reported earlier.

- The all-party meeting is scheduled to be held inside the Parliament building at 5 pm, according to the office of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.
- Leader of the Opposition Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge objected to the decision and demanded that the issue be discussed in the House instead of media briefing.
- Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi told reporters in the Parliament complex that he would not be able to attend the all-party meeting as he is scheduled to attend a program in Kerala.
- The all-party meeting comes after Prime Minister Modi addressed Parliament on Monday and Tuesday, urging his countrymen to “prepare for every challenge”. “There is a strong possibility that the ill effects of this war will continue for a long time,” he said in his speeches in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
- Modi said the government has formed seven empowered groups to develop strategies on fuel, supply chains and fertilisers, among others, and stem the impact of the Iran-Israel-US conflict.
