A 35-year-old woman was shot dead by her husband in Telangana’s Medchal-Malkagiri district, police said on Wednesday, adding that the incident may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.

The victim was identified as Nisha Rani, news agency ANI reported.

The news agency reported that the accused, her husband Arun, is still on the run, and special teams have been assigned to find him. The incident occurred in Maruthi Nagar area.

According to police, Nisha was fatally injured by gunshot wounds during the incident that occurred around 5:30 am.

Police said Aaron shot her during an argument. Initial investigations indicate that three rounds of shooting occurred, according to the report.

Officials said Nisha died before she could receive medical care, adding that excessive blood loss was the cause of her death.

The exact sequence of events that led to the alleged shooting has not yet been found. Investigators are examining all aspects of the case to find out why.

Chasing the accused husband

Shortly after the incident, accused Arun fled the area and is still missing. The local authorities formed a special team to locate and find him. According to the police, teams have already been formed to track his movements and collect information that could lead to his arrest.

No immediate details were available about the weapon used in the alleged crime. Investigators are expected to question relatives, neighbors and others who may have information relevant to the case.

After taking legal measures at the crime scene, the body was transferred for autopsy.

Autopsy results may help investigators understand the chronology of events and the nature of the injuries sustained by the victim.
