The 29-year-old accused in the Buxo case, who is also suspected of killing six people – his wife, two children, the minor complainant and two of her relatives – was found dead in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district on Monday in an apparent case of suicide, police said.
According to police, P Rajkumar’s body was found in a field in Benjirla village, about 35 km from Hyderabad. “An insecticide bottle was found near his body,” said Chevella DCP Yogesh Gautam. Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi said police also recovered Rajkumar’s mobile phone, which contained a video he had recorded a few hours before the murder. According to Joshi, Rajkummar was allegedly addicted to online betting, saying in the video that mounting debts “left him feeling disillusioned with life” and that he felt betrayed by “a woman he trusted”.

Rajkumar was booked on May 16 on the complaint of a 17-year-old girl, and was taken into custody on May 26. He was released after obtaining anticipatory bail because the crimes carried a maximum sentence of less than seven years.
Police said Rajkumar killed the girl’s mother and grandmother, kidnapped and killed the teenager, and later killed his wife and two sons.
