A senior advocate of the Andhra Pradesh High Court was killed when a concrete mixer truck fell on the BMW he was traveling in at Kesara toll plaza in Kanchikacharla area of NTR district on Saturday evening, police said.

The accident occurred around 4:15-4:20 pm on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada Expressway when a ready mix concrete tanker lost control near the toll plaza and fell sideways on a red BMW, flattening the luxury vehicle. The collision completely crushed the car.
The deceased has been identified as P Srinivas Rao, a prominent lawyer. He was returning to Hyderabad after participating in the Amaravati Bar Council elections earlier the day the accident occurred.
“His body was recovered using heavy machinery and sent for post-mortem examination,” Vijayawada Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu told reporters.
According to preliminary investigations, the tanker, which was carrying ready-mix concrete, lost control due to a suspected brake failure while it was turning near the toll plaza. The BMW, with registration number TS 09 FT 6662, was crossing a toll gate when the truck overturned on it.
Police, toll plaza employees and emergency personnel rushed to the scene and used cranes and earthmovers to lift the overturned tanker and recover the wrecked car.
Traffic on the busy highway was partially disrupted following the accident. Authorities are also examining surveillance camera footage to determine whether overloading or negligence contributed to the accident.
The accident sparked panic at the toll plaza, with images showing the truck lying sideways on top of the completely mangled BMW. The commissioner said further investigations are underway.
