A Pakistani terrorist was shot dead in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, even as the Army foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control.

The Army said in a statement that a joint operation was launched on the intervening night of March 14-15 based on specific intelligence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police regarding an infiltration attempt.
He added, “The alert forces detected a suspicious movement of a terrorist in the forest. The ambush was modified and the terrorist was confronted, which led to the terrorist opening fire randomly.” The operation took place in Buchar in the Uri sector.
The army added that “military stores including an AK rifle, pistols and a large amount of ammunition” were found during the joint operation. According to the army’s latest report, the operation is still continuing as of Sunday morning.
