Taking into account the videos shared across social media, Delhi Police on Tuesday shared an update from its official handle X confirming that the accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the law.

The incident came to light when a video of the accused, identified as 22-year-old Tushar Punia, riding his motorcycle, opening the doors of moving vehicles, was posted on social media. The incident was reported from New Usmanpur in northeast Delhi.

The accused was performing stunts on a motorcycle and harassing bus passengers for shooting social media reels, police told news agency PTI, adding that the motorcycle did not even have a registration plate.

A video went viral on social media on February 16, in which a man was seen riding a motorcycle without a number plate and opening the doors of vehicles, including a DTC bus during traffic, posing a serious threat to public safety. The accused allegedly removed the number plate to avoid identification.

The police said that a team was formed to identify and trace the accused, scanned CCTV footage from the area and analyzed the viral video to identify the criminal. After investigations, the accused was searched for and arrested. He was also found in possession of the motorcycle used to commit the crime.
