New details reveal that the murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agrawal did not happen at the time, but was a well-thought-out plan.
Amid the ongoing investigation into the alleged murder, police said on Wednesday that the plot to kill him had been discussed in advance by his fiancée and her lover.
On the day of the incident, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary allegedly met at a cafe and discussed the plan to kill Agarwal, even identifying a suitable place in the fort where Agarwal could be pushed, a police officer told news agency PTI.

Sia Goyal is accused of killing her fiancé Ketan Agarwal with the help of Chetan Chaudhary, believed to be her boyfriend, by pushing him off a cliff during a trip to Lohagad Fort near Lonavala on June 18 – an incident that was earlier reported as an accidental death but then took a turn when police interrogation raised suspicions.
Police claim the first alleged attempt took place on June 14
Police also said that a previous attempt to carry out the alleged plan took place on June 14, news agency ANI reported.

According to police, Sia reportedly tried to push Ketan out of the fort, but the attempt failed. Following this, she allegedly raised an alarm about spotting a snake and later claimed that Ketan accidentally fell during the panic.
2000 phone calls
The police also claimed that Siya and Chetan remained in frequent contact over several months and allegedly exchanged more than 2,000 phone calls.
Police are trying to investigate the alleged relationship between Sia Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary.
The police claimed that the two met for the first time at a Diwali party last year and then a close friendship developed between them. Investigators suspect that Sia did not want to go ahead with her marriage to Ketan Agrawal and was under pressure from her family.

According to the investigation, Sia allegedly wanted more time for herself and was unwilling to go through with the marriage plans despite family pressure.
Police are investigating the alleged motive behind the killing
The police suspect that Sia wanted to eliminate Ketan while continuing her relationship with Chetan Chaudhary.
Investigators also claimed that although Siya had become close to Chetan and liked him, she was not ready to marry him at that stage.
Police are examining these allegations as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged motive behind Ketan Agrawal’s death.
Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are currently in police custody for seven days till June 29.
Further investigations are underway as police continue to examine the alleged conspiracy, digital evidence and other details linked to the case.
