Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday shared a post on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin, detailing his journey from a student to becoming a legislator. He did not name anyone, but it was seen as a rejection of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal after he made a disparaging remark about Nabin.

“Such simplicity and frankness are a matter of pride for every BJP worker…,” Modi said, sharing the position of Piyush Padmakar, a long-time colleague of Nabin.
Padmakar wrote the post on Sunday about Nabin’s humility and how he lived frugally as a student even though his father was a legislator in Bihar. “…Until then, Nitin was the most disciplined and sociable of the four friends. If there were fights between us, it was Nitin who would resolve them,” Padmakar wrote.

On Monday, the BJP responded sharply to Kejriwal’s post on X, asking who are you in response to Nabin’s attack on the opposition for politicizing alleged irregularities in donation collections at Ayodhya Ram Temple.
Speaking in Lucknow on Sunday, Nabin criticized leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Kejriwal and Akhilesh Yadav, saying they should not consider “Hindus weak”. He accused them of remaining silent when their people “insult Hindu gods.”
In December 2025, Modi praised him for distinguishing himself as a hard worker when Nabin was appointed working president of the BJP. Modi described Nabin as a hardworking leader with rich organizational experience and an impressive record as a legislator and minister in Bihar. “He has worked hard to fulfill the aspirations of the people. He is known for his humble nature and down-to-earth style. I am confident that his energy and dedication will strengthen our party in the times to come…” Modi said in a post on X.
