The woman, who worked at the man’s house in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district for several years, claimed that he had entered into a “written agreement” to marry her five years ago, when she was 17, and promised to make the marriage legal when she turned 20, police said, police said.

The woman claimed that he had harassed her and forced her to perform other sexual acts several years earlier. A case was registered against Jalaluddin (24 years old) on Saturday. He has been booked under relevant sections of the BNS, including, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act and the SC/ST Act.

According to PTI, a police official said in her complaint that the woman alleged that Jalaluddin brought her to his home for domestic work, taking advantage of her poverty and the fact that she is an orphan.

He allegedly began to gradually harass her and eventually had physical relations with her.

The woman claimed that when she threatened to reveal the matter, Jalaluddin entered into a “written agreement” and married her on August 10, 2021. According to the official, she was then informed that he would officially marry her and transfer a share of his property to her after she turned 20.

She further claimed that when she later pressured him to consummate the marriage, she was forced to change her religion. When she refused, police said, she received death threats.

The woman also claimed that Jalaluddin had been forcing him to have sex with her since 2017. She also claimed that he was now preparing to marry someone else, the police said.

A police officer said that a case has been registered based on the victim’s complaint. He added that procedures are underway to record the victim’s statements before a local court in Ballia, and the police have also begun a detailed investigation into the matter.

Earlier in June, a nine-month-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a 12-year-old relative. The teenager admitted that he was drunk and watching porn before kidnapping the child. The minor accused was placed under theoretical guard.

The victim was initially taken to the Community Health Center before being transferred to BRD Medical College as her condition deteriorated. Police later confirmed that an official medical examination proved that the infant had been raped. She is currently fighting for her life in critical condition, according to PTI.
