A man accused of killing his wife at their home in Delhi’s Seelampur was arrested in Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, three days after the crime. Police said the accused traveled through multiple cities in an apparent attempt to avoid arrest before he was finally tracked down near a railway station.
The victim, a 45-year-old woman, was found lying in a pool of blood in her home on Thursday evening. She was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared her death. NDTV I mentioned.
Police tracked the suspect in several cities
Shortly after the murder came to light, the woman’s husband, 52-year-old Salem, was found missing, making him the prime suspect in the case.

The police formed multiple teams to track him down, relying on CCTV footage and technical surveillance during the investigation.
According to investigators, Salim continued to change his positions in an attempt to avoid arrest. His movements took him from Anand Vihar in Delhi to several cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur and Lucknow. He later returned to Moradabad, where he was arrested by police near the railway station, about 160 km from Seelampur.
The accused claims that suspicion of an affair led to the crime
Police said that Salim confessed to the murder during interrogation.

According to investigators, he claimed that his wife, who works in a clothing factory, was having an affair with one of her colleagues. He told the police that this case led to frequent quarrels between the couple.

Another fight broke out on Thursday over the same matter, police said. In a fit of rage, Salem allegedly attacked his wife several times with scissors before fleeing the house.
Weapons and clothing were recovered
Based on the information provided by the accused, the police found the scissors that were allegedly used in the attack, in addition to the blood-stained clothes he was wearing at the time of the incident.
Police said Salem had no prior criminal record. This case is being investigated further.
