Aman was arrested from Rajasthan’s Kishangarh on Saturday for allegedly killing his wife and three daughters at their rented residence in north Delhi’s Samaypur Badli on Wednesday, police said.

He told the police that he killed his wife because of financial pressure and frequent quarrels over money. He also killed children because he did not want to raise them.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North), Hareshwar Swamy, said the accused was identified as Munchon Kewat, in his early 30s, a vegetable vendor in Azadpur Mandi.

The woman, Anita, 30, and her daughters – aged three, four and five – were found murdered with their throats slit in their home on Wednesday.

“During initial interrogation, he allegedly told the team that he was facing financial problems and there were frequent quarrels between the couple over money. He killed the girls because he did not want to take their responsibility,” an officer familiar with the matter said.

Police said that Kiwat had been on the run for three days and 15 teams were working to arrest him.
