A 26-year-old man was seriously injured on Wednesday when an SUV rammed him into a wall after it rammed into a house at Sirohi in Daug, Faridabad, in a rampage triggered by a police tip-off about the location of an absconding suspect in a criminal case.

A video of the incident circulated on social media. It allegedly showed the SUV chasing Muhammad Sadiq, a resident of Sirohi village, for approximately 150-200 meters across fields and hitting him before crashing into the wall. Sadiq was transferred to a hospital in Faridabad, where his condition remains critical.
Inspector Darpan Kumar, in-charge of Daug police station, identified Muhammad Tahasam as the suspect driving the SUV. “He is from Dhuwaj and is on the run. There were raids to arrest him.”
Police said Tahlil was wanted in connection with a theft case and a team from Yamuna Nagar was in Daug to arrest him on Wednesday. Tahlil fled in an SUV with one of his assistants. Investigators said that the police chased Tahlil, but he managed to evade them and reached Sirohi and broke into the house of a resident and accused him of informing the police about his location.
A second officer said: “A quarrel broke out, which quickly developed into an all-out clash between two groups of Dawogs and Sirohi, and spread to nearby fields.”
The people of Sirohi attacked Tahsim and his four-wheel drive vehicle with stones and bricks while he was driving it to chase them by repeatedly trying to run them over. At least four other people were also injured during the attack.
Kumar said that an assault case has been registered against the residents of Sirohi. He added that a case of attempted counter-murder had been registered against Tahlil and his companions.
