An engineer from Bengaluru reportedly died by suicide on Tuesday after a family dispute over cooking. An argument broke out between a 35-year-old tech worker and her mother-in-law, after which the woman ended her life by hanging.

The incident took place in Bengaluru, where 35-year-old Shushma, who previously worked in an IT company, hanged herself, NDTV reported.
Shushma was married to Puneeth for five years, and they also have a four-year-old son. There were frequent arguments in their home over minor issues, including cooking food.
Meanwhile, Shushma’s family claimed that her mother-in-law did not allow her to cook and continued to harass her, the report said.

The police arrested the husband after Sushma’s family filed a complaint accusing her in-laws of dowry harassment. The search is still ongoing to find her mother-in-law.
A case has been registered and the investigation is still ongoing.
In a similar case last year, a 27-year-old woman died by suicide due to her husband’s alleged dowry harassment, and her husband was arrested.

The woman who works at a software company has been married for 3 years and also has a son. The woman’s family alleged that the groom’s family continued to demand money despite the family offering a huge amount at the time of the wedding, PTI reported.
In December last year, a female technician in Bengaluru reportedly died by suicide after harassment and financial demands from her neighbours.
According to a complaint filed by the technician’s mother, her son, who was building a house on a plot of land purchased in 2018, had been repeatedly contacted by his neighbors demanding that he $20 thousand pounds due to a property dispute.
