A six-year-old boy was allegedly kidnapped and thrown alive into a canal Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. The police arrested the accused Arpit Parashar, who was allegedly in a relationship with the child’s mother.

The victim had come to Bhassouma to spend his vacation with his family. His father, Gursevak Singh, works in a private company in Saudi Arabia, while his mother had brought him from Patiala, where he was studying and living with his aunt. The child had been living in Bahsuma for about a week before the incident.

A child disappeared after going out to play

According to police, on Tuesday at around 11 a.m., the child returned home after riding his bike. Keep her inside the house and then go out again to play. Investigators believe that shortly after that, a white WagonR entered the area and he was allegedly lured into the vehicle and taken away.

When the boy did not return home, his grandmother Baljinder Kaur began searching for him. As hours passed without any trace of the child, the family contacted relatives and neighbors, but no one had any information. At around 6pm, they finally informed the police.

CCTV footage leads to hack

Police examined CCTV footage from the area and nearby locations. The footage reportedly showed a white car entering the village around the time the child disappeared.

On Wednesday morning, police arrested Parashar, 27, an employee of a private bank. During his interrogation, he confessed to kidnapping the child and throwing him in the canal.

Police said he had been in a relationship with the child’s mother for the past five to six years, which led to personal disputes.

A body has been found

After recognition, police teams, in cooperation with the National Disaster Response Force, conducted a search in the canal. Several hours later, the child’s body was recovered on Wednesday afternoon, about 25 hours after his disappearance.

Superintendent of Police Abhijit Kumar said that the accused confessed to taking the child and throwing him in the canal.

The accused wanted to marry the child’s mother

The police said that the accused and the child’s mother knew each other and had been in contact for several years. Locals also claimed that he had been visiting the area for the past few days and was in a relationship and possibly had plans to get married.

Police are now reviewing CCTV footage, electronic evidence and witness statements. Investigations are still ongoing, and all allegations of the accused are being examined.
