A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the triple murder in Kotturu town of Karnataka’s Vijayanagar district, police said.

According to Janhvi, the arrested person lodged a missing persons complaint with the Tilak Nagar police station in Bengaluru on January 29 and claimed that her parents and sister were missing. However, during the investigation, inconsistencies were found in his statement, leading the police to suspect foul play.
“On the basis of a complaint lodged by a person named Lakshya, about 24 years, resident of Kotturu town, a missing complaint was lodged at Tilak Nagar police station on January 29. During investigation, due to discrepancy in information and statements, a case was registered at Tilak Nagar police station yesterday. A team from PI, Nagar along with his staff arrived today. Kotturu town… bodies have been sent for post-mortem…”, Superintendent of Police S Janhvi told ANI
The police also said that the bodies of the victims have been sent for post-mortem and Tilak Nagar police station will conduct further investigation.
Earlier, a 35-year-old man named Yogesh was stabbed to death by his cousins in Mayappanahalli village of Manda district in Karnataka. The incident took place when Yogesh was resting in a cow farm, police said.
According to Keragodu police, Yogesh’s cousins Bharat and Darshan allegedly entered the cage and attacked him with sharp weapons and killed him on the spot.
According to authorities, there was a long-standing feud between the family, particularly involving Yogesh’s brother Lingaraj, with frequent clashes reported between them in the past.
The murder took place in the limits of Keragodu police station. Yogesh, who was recently engaged, was supposed to get married in the coming days.
