Quota: An 18-year-old National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) candidate committed suicide in Rajasthan’s Kota, police said on Friday.
(Representative photo)The deceased was a resident of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh and was staying in Kota for the past few months while preparing for the online exam.
“The student had moved to Kota about two-and-a-half months ago and was preparing through online study material and test series,” said Station House Officer (SHO) Baldev.
According to police, the student told neighbors that she had ingested a poisonous substance and sought help. “He was taken to a hospital but died during treatment. His body was kept at the morgue, and a postmortem was conducted on Friday after his family members arrived,” an officer said.
Police said further investigations are underway, and statements of relatives and acquaintances are being recorded to determine what led to the incident.
