Zach Krieger, fresh from success weapons, Unveil the first look of it Vampire reboot during the Sony CinemaCon presentation on Monday.
The director took the stage solo when he premiered the film’s trailer to a Las Vegas audience. The feature will be released in theaters on September 18, 2026, and is based on Capcom’s popular video game series about an elite task force battling zombies. “Over the last two decades, I’ve played a lot of games,” Krieger told the audience VampireHe was drawn to how “naturally cinematic” the games are.
He noted that he wanted his version in particular to reflect the pacing of events – where there are no time jumps like his previous projects – and the atmosphere of the games, promising: “If you like games, you will feel their influence everywhere in the film.”
He then threw Krieger into the trailer, which began with star Austin Abrams having some car trouble and knocking on a creepy cabin with a plea to use the phone. While he appears to be talking to a romantic partner on the phone, he shakily reveals “I’m in a very bad place right now and there seems to be a chance we might never be able to talk to each other again,” as he declares his love. His call is set over a number of horrific images, with bodies being dragged along the ground, limbs crawling around door frames and blood falling from the sky onto lines of cars, as Abrams runs for his life.
This is the third round Vampire A film series that has grossed over $1.2 billion at the global box office, following six films directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich. initial reboot, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon Citywas released in 2021 to poor results, and now Krieger is attempting an adaptation as director and co-writer, alongside Shay Hatten.

CinemaCon, the annual gathering of movie theater owners and Hollywood studios, is hosted in Las Vegas by Cinema United, formerly known as the National Association of Theater Owners. This year’s edition will be held from April 13 to 16.
