Yo Yo Honey Singh has made a surprising personal discovery: he is bald. The star revealed that years of taking heavy medication during his battle with bipolar disorder caused him to lose all his hair, and he has been wearing a wig ever since.

The singer gave his most detailed and raw account of some of the darkest years of his life. Despite being one of the country’s biggest music talents, he revealed that he was facing serious mental health challenges which eventually took a severe physical toll. During an appearance on the ABtalks podcast, he revealed what years of medication had done to his body. “I’ve been on heavy medication for seven years,” he said.

Because of it, I weighed 105 kilos and lost my hair completely. This is fake hair. I’m completely bald. “This is a wig.”

Honey Singh also described the extent to which his condition forced him to withdraw completely. After leaving the stage mid-performance, he completely shut himself in. He said: “Then I called my sister and told her something was happening to me. She said I still had to do the show. I left midway through after singing two songs.

And then I stayed inside my house for seven years. I didn’t want my fans to see me like this.

I locked myself inside and didn’t even meet my childhood friends. There were no communications, no phone calls, no television, no internet. “People thought the devil was talking to me.”The singer stressed that getting clean was just the beginning of a much longer road back. “You won’t believe it, but even after I stopped using drugs in 2014, it took me seven to eight years to recover,” he revealed.
