Actress and digital creator Yashaswini Dayamma shared an emotional note after the death of her father, veteran actor Ramakant Dayamma, who passed away on May 26, 2026 at the age of 69 after a long illness.On Tuesday, June 9, Yashaswini took to Instagram to remember her father and thank fans, colleagues and well-wishers for the outpouring of love and support her family has received during this difficult time.Sharing a family photo, the actress admitted that she was struggling to find the right words to publicly address her father’s death.“I was really dreading having to make this post…or rather any post. I felt like I had to be somewhat prepared and give a sincere tribute…

“We’re not there yet,” she wrote.Expressing her gratitude for the messages and memories shared by those who knew and admired her father, she added: “But I guess I have to express the greatest gratitude to my family and feel for all the love and memories I’ve shared with my dad. 🙏🏻 Thank you for recognizing this rock star.”

A versatile actor across films, theater and OTT

Ramakant Daayama has been a familiar face across films, television, theater and digital platforms. Over the years, he has gained recognition for his authentic performances and ability to bring emotional depth to character-driven roles.

The veteran actor has appeared in several notable films and web series, including Chak De! India, Ram Setu, Mumbai Saga, The Crew, Farzi, and Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. He is also remembered for his performances in Dhanak and many popular theater productions.His last appearance was in the award-winning short film Thursday Special, alongside Anubha Fatehpuria. The film is produced by popular directors Shoojit Sircar and Vikramaditya Motwani.
