Pink is shaking things up again, and this time, she’s trading the palm trees of Hollywood for the Big Apple. Yes, this New Year, embrace the bright lights of New York City. Pink and her family packed up and moved east, saying goodbye to Southern California and hello to a whole new chapter. So, what’s behind this big move?Read on to find out.
Why did Pink’s address change?
Even at 46 years old, Pink (real name, Alicia Beth Moore) isn’t one to follow the crowd. This latest decision proves that. She always puts family and creativity front and center, and moving to New York is about both. In a recent television appearance, Pink spoke candidly about what prompted her to swap coasts.

So why New York? Let’s just say that Pink is toasting the town for a reason.
She and her husband, Carey Hart (married for 20 years), and their children Willow, 14, and Jameson, 9, are all in on this new adventure. The main motivation behind the decision to change zip codes? It’s family, as always. During her time as a guest host on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Pink explained that the real reason for the move was her daughter’s dreams, and her commitment to being a mom who shows up and makes things happen.
“We actually moved here because I’m an amazing mom,” Pink joked on air, flashing that signature blend of sarcasm and heart. But she meant it. Willow, who is only 14 years old, is passionate about theater and Broadway, and New York is truly the only place to dive into this world. Pink wanted her daughter to have the opportunity to study and perform at the event venue.During the show, Pink and Willow performed together, covering the song “Hopeless War” from the musical The Outsiders.
It was truly a beautiful moment to watch: just a mother and her child, sharing the stage, soaking up the energy of the Big Apple.Another bonus: Living in New York made it easy for Pink to guest host on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” as Kelly prepares for the finale of her seven-season run. However, Pink wanted to set the record straight that she will not be taking over the show, no matter what the rumors say. In a now-deleted Instagram video, she laughed off the gossip: “I’m not going to be on Kelly Clarkson’s show.”
She explained that she was just helping out a friend, and wasn’t looking to add “talk show host” to her already crowded resume.“If I wanted a talk show, I’d just get one,” Pink joked. “And it will be amazing.”
Pink: All about the pop star
Born Alicia Beth Moore in Pennsylvania in 1979, Pink burst onto the scene in the late 1990s with her debut album Can’t Take Me Home. From day one, her voice and attitude stood out. She’s always mixing genres (think pop, rock, and a little R&B) and brings a fearless energy to everything she does.
Her early 2000s hits like “Get the Party Started,” “Just Like a Pill,” and “So What” were very era-defining. Millions of albums sold, three Grammy Awards, and she somehow manages to remain relevant while remaining authentic. As for her family life, despite all the speculation (and some recent rumors about her marriage to Carey being in trouble, which she shot down, according to E! News), Pink seemed excited about this new chapter in New York.“I’ve played in stadiums and danced on the sides of buildings, but walking in to guest-host my girl Kelly Clarkson is a whole new accomplishment!” she said back in February. “Let’s celebrate women, joy, resilience, and anything else that comes our way!”
