When Salman Khan reveals why he won't contest the elections: 'I will lose, even for my building secretary post'

Salman Khan is one of India’s most popular celebrities, but the actor has a surprisingly self-deprecating reason for staying out of politics. In a candid appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, the star admitted that while he feels the need to contest the elections, he is convinced that he will not even win his building secretary’s post because his family will not vote for him.

Salman Khan reveals the reason for not running in the elections

The conversation started when host Kapil Sharma pointed out that political parties regularly approach popular film stars to contest elections on their behalf and directly asked the ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor, “Sir, a lot of parties invite big film stars and popular stars to their parties and ask them to contest elections on their behalf. There is no one more popular than you. Don’t you ever feel like contesting elections?”Instead of deviating with a diplomatic answer, Salman Khan responded in his characteristic frank manner.

The Ek Tha Tiger actor said, “I feel like contesting elections a lot. But then I look at my building. Well. I have eight flats in my building. Of them three are ours. And if you are in my building… forget about the PM, Minister, MLA, MP, etc. If you contest the election for my building secretary, I will lose.”

“I won’t get three votes from home.”
