Ridley Scott is one of the most famous directors of the last few decades. Many of his films became huge hits after their release. In an old interview, the star director spoke frankly about OTT viewing and how one series of David Fincher’s projects managed to become his favorite pastime. He shared some then-rare insights into his viewing habits.

In a 2017 conversation with Vulture, the acclaimed director admitted that he was hooked on David Fincher’s Mindhunter. He shared during the interview that it is one of the best shows he has watched and he would like to do something along the lines of it as well.He added: “I’ll be there at 1am… Click. It’s a bedtime story! I love the advent of Netflix and what it means for people like me. It suits me perfectly.”
I would personally like to do a ten-hour miniseries myself. [David] Fincher has got the best show on the air right now.”He praised the show’s creator, joking: “Fincher is a bit like me, very anal, compulsive, but he’s very good, and it proves that the audience wants good. They don’t want sex; they want good.”

The director added in the same interview that he is very obsessed with OTT platforms. “It’s like a catapult, because they just want content and lots of it,” he commented.
Do they care much about quality? Less than that, and they have to keep an eye on that. But they have $8 billion to spend next year, just on content. And I watch a movie every night, so it’s perfect.

Now, years later, the star has a lot on his plate now. He’s gearing up for the release of his post-apocalyptic film, “The Dog Stars,” in which Jacob Elordi leads the cast. The story revolves around Haig, a man who survived one of the worst epidemics the world has ever seen accompanied by his dog. He also has a drunk neighbor who likes to carry a gun next to him. When he finds a strange radio broadcast repeating, Haig risks everything he’s ever known in order to discover the truth, hoping there’s something else to live for.
