The highly anticipated sitcom Welcome to the Jungle is bringing families back to theaters in droves. The third installment of the popular ‘Welcome’ series has managed to strike a chord with audiences, as it showed a stellar upward trajectory over its opening weekend.

Navigating initial screen-sharing challenges with the ongoing rollout of Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Cocktail 2’, the Ahmed Khan directorial leveraged its massive multi-starrer appeal to post a whopping 31.1% growth on Saturday. With Sunday’s live tracking already reflecting the packed family audiences of morning shows, the film is poised to dominate before heading to its crucial weekday first test. The film looks good to deliver a final third day collection in the Rs 18-22 crore net range, which is generally in line with or exceeding Saturday’s figure.

This will take the three-day opening weekend domestic tally into the Rs 60-65 crore range, with the global total likely to cross the Rs 85-90 crore mark by the end of the weekend. Looking ahead to next week, the film’s broad, multi-generational appeal puts it in a good position to better absorb the typical Monday patch than niche releases.

The first week domestic network in the range of Rs 90-100 crore seems achievable if weekday holding periods remain intact.
