Actor Ajith Kumar returned to Chennai on Saturday after the death of his mother Mohini Mani. The actor was reportedly in Dubai before returning home to be with his family during the difficult time.

Following the news, several figures from the cinematic and political circles visited his residence to offer support and offer condolences.

Some photos showed the two stars arriving in different vehicles.

The family shares details about Mohini Mani’s death

Mohini Mani passed away in Chennai on Saturday morning at the age of 89.

The family later said that she died peacefully in her sleep after suffering from health problems over a period of time.“Our mother, Mohini Mani, passed away early this morning, in her sleep, after a period of declining health. She was 89 years old. We are grateful for the care and support provided to her and our family by a number of medical professionals over the past few years,” the family’s statement read.

Ajith Kumar family He asks for privacy during difficult times

The family also requested privacy while grieving and shared details regarding final rites.

The statement added: “Her last rites will be a private family affair. We trust that all who have known the pain of losing a parent or beloved elder will respect our desire to grieve quietly, and honor her memory with the same poise, dignity and gentle strength that she showed us every day of her life.” The memorandum was signed by Anoop Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar.

Celebrities express their condolences

Many well-known personalities shared messages after learning about Mohini Mani’s death.Veteran actor Kamal Haasan wrote on X: “I was deeply saddened to learn of the demise of Mr. Ajith Kumar’s mother, Mrs. Mohini Mani. My heartfelt condolences to Ajith Kumar and his family who are grieving the loss of their beloved mother.”Vijay also expressed his grief and wrote, “I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Mrs. Mohini Ammiyar, the mother of my dear friend Mr. Ajith Kumar. I pray that her soul rests in peace at the divine feet of the Lord. I extend my deepest condolences to my friend Mr. Ajith Kumar, who is grieving the loss of his mother, who was a pillar of support and embrace at all stages of life, and to his family members.”Actor Radhika Sarathkumar also paid tribute and wrote, “Dear #Ajith, So sorry to hear about your mother’s death. My condolences to the family and prayers for strength in this sad phase of your life. May you be at peace.”
