Vedang Raina has made it to the big screen with his latest release ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari and others. The film is a romantic drama set against the backdrop of partition that leads to broken dreams and hearts.

Speaking of broken hearts, in an exclusive chat with us, Vidang Raina shared a page from his personal life.

When asked if he’s ever experienced heartbreak, he candidly shared, “I have. I think everyone has gone through it at some point, and it doesn’t have to be romantic heartbreak. It can be any kind.”

“I’ve definitely gone through a lot of heartache,” he continued. When asked how he dealt with it, he replied: “Well, I guess time really heals everything.

I know this is a really, you know, cliché thing to say, but over time you figure out your stuff.Explaining his point, Vidang said: “You discover how to adapt to certain changes in your life that are heartbreaking. I think you learn to love yourself more. I think the more you love yourself, the less heartbreak will affect you.”

In our conversation, director Imtiaz Ali also spoke about what he finds unique and noteworthy about Vedang.

“As an actor, he wants all his answers,” he said. “He would prepare for a shot or a scene, days before, when we would read with him. He would try to get every note right.”

The ‘Tamasha’ director feels that it is the musician inside Vedang that adds more to his acting persona. “Because he’s a musician too,” he said, “he wants to have everything perfectly in mind. Have everything clear, and then go for it. What’s comforting is that you want to know every little part.”However, in this film, he let it go, which, according to the director, is a sign of courage. “I think that was noteworthy for me. It’s a very technical acting thing, not like a joke or a whim.”

Released on June 12, Friday, the film opened with Rs 1.15 crore, according to Sakneelak. The film earned this number across 2,302 screenings and is expected to benefit from an increased weekend.
