a surprise! Netflix has been renewed Tyler Perry beauty in black for a fourth season before the third season debuts later this year. Back in December, when the streamer revealed the news of the popular drama’s third season renewal, it was believed that season 3 would be the final chapter in the Bellary family saga.

Beauty in black “It’s back for Season 4 and the story of the Bellary family is far from over,” series creator, producer, writer and director Tyler Perry said in an interview with Netflix. The renewal shouldn’t come as a surprise, at least on Netflix’s part, given the success it’s had Beauty in black. According to the streamer, the first season of the series spent seven weeks in the global top 10 on Netflix and reached number one in 28 countries. The second season spent six weeks in the global top ten and reached number one in 17 countries.

Bucking the trend of other dramas taking years between seasons but in keeping with Perry’s legendary production, Beauty in black It has been producing episodes since its debut in October 2024. Season 2 was released in two parts, with Part 2 premiering in March 2026. In total there have been 32 episodes of the show so far.

More information about Season 4 will be released at a later date. Unfortunately, there’s no update on when Season 3 will drop, but given the renewal news, it won’t be long until we get to see Kimmy and Mallory on our screens again.

The tagline for Season 3 reads: “Kimmie finally has a seat at Bellarie’s table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she is forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together they navigate a harsh world of blackmail, revenge and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of its own, threatening to bring down the entire empire.”

The main cast for the upcoming season includes Taylor Polidore Williams, Krystle Stewart, Amber Rain Smith, Xavier Smalls, Rico Ross, Julianne Horton, Stephen J. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Brian Tanaka, Charles Malik Whitfield, and Debbie Morgan.
