President Donald Trump celebrated Stephen Colbert’s exit from CBS after the final installment of the series Late Show Thursday night.

Just before 2 a.m., Trump posted: “Colbert is finally done with CBS. Amazing he lasted that long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person. You could take anyone off the street and they would be better than this idiot. Thank God he’s finally gone!”

Colbert, of course, hosted his finals Late show Thursday, a star-studded concert ended with a performance by Paul McCartney. CBS had previously announced that this season would be the series’ last, citing the economic challenges faced by late-night television.

But Trump, a frequent critic of most late-night anchors, took things further on Friday morning, posting the following: “The firing of Stephen Colbert from CBS marked ‘the beginning of the end’ for untalented, bad, overpaid, unfunny, very bad late-night TV hosts.”

“And others, of less talent, will soon follow. May they all rest in peace!” He added.

It’s not immediately clear who Trump was referring to, but NBC’s Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon have drawn his ire at times, while ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel is a frequent target. In fact, the FCC is seeking to review ABC’s broadcast licenses, in a move announced just days after Kimmel came under fire from the president.
