Tribeca Film Festival honors Bruce Springsteen with the Harry Belafonte Award, and screens the film “Bridget Jones’s Diary” on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.

The Tribeca Festival will honor Bruce Springsteen with the 2026 Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award in an event that will include a conversation with his old friend Bono and tributes to Robert De Niro and Patti Smith.

The Belafonte Award, created by Tribeca’s late chief content officer Paula Weinstein, recognizes artists who use their platform to promote equality, dignity and human rights.

“There are few figures who more fully embody the spirit of the Harry Belafonte Award Tribeca Festival than Bruce Springsteen,” said Jane Rosenthal, co-founder and co-president of the Tribeca Festival.

In addition to the Springsteen tribute, Tribeca on Tuesday announced the world premiere of Katy Perry’s concert film Life Tour – Live from Parisfollowed by a conversation with Perry and Tony Kaye Humpty Dumpty xexploring the director’s creative journey in the wake of his 1998 directorial American History X.

Additional highlights from the talks, reunions and retrospective lineup announced Tuesday include a 25th anniversary screening of bridget jones diary, Followed by a conversation with director Sharon Maguire and star Renee Zellweger; 30th anniversary screening of the film related toFollowed by a conversation with director Lilly Wachowski and stars Gina Gershon and Joe Pantoliano; 50th anniversary screening of the film Taxi driverfollowed by a conversation between Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese; and Daft Punk’s 20th anniversary shows Electroma and Small town gay bar.

In addition, the festival will host conversations between Sean Penn and Kaitlan Collins, after the cancellation of a conversation scheduled for last year, and another with Estee Haim.

The festival also recently announced its NOW (New Online Work) slate, after becoming the first major film festival to open submissions to social media creators. This year’s selections include: They were roommatesa rom-com series set in New York; Shankeda country club workplace comedy; BK Cafea satire of Generation Z; VHS datesa found footage comedy about dating in the 1980s; Sideline Archiveexploring forgotten stories through sports memorabilia; This is itimages of uncredited architects from black history; Paraphrasingbilingual stories and resources for people returning to Mexico from the United States; 15 second movie; Mechanical pencilcoming-of-age stories rooted in 1990s black cinema; And Taylor Cassidy.
