Tom Holland is pulling double duty this summer by starring in two highly anticipated films: Odyssey and Spider-Man: A Brand New Day. He reveals how he made sure not to miss out on Christopher Nolan’s epic.
In the latest GQ Cover story side by side Odyssey Co-stars Matt Damon and Robert Pattinson spoke from Holland about how he had to call Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman, one of the studios behind the film, and convinced the studio head to pay Spider-Man: A Brand New Day’Produced so he could make a Christopher Nolan movie Odyssey Firstly, due to conflicting filming schedules.
“I told Chris, ‘Look, I want to do this movie, but if I’m going to do it, I’m going to have to call Sony and have a very uncomfortable conversation,'” the 30-year-old actor said.
Fortunately for Holland, Rothman agreed.
“I think one of the reasons Sony was happy to move on is because Chris had a reputation that, ‘This movie won’t last for five months, and we won’t lose Tom for two years.’” Any other director, the conversation might have been a little different.
And it’s worked out ever since Odyssey It ended nine days ago. The extra time also allowed the franchise to hire Destin Daniel Creighton (Shang Qi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) as its manager.
“Odyssey Almost saved Spider-Man Because we didn’t have Destin. He wasn’t ready to make the movie when we were ready to go. “We didn’t have a six-month period to develop the script with Destin to get it to where it is,” he said. “I truly believe we made a better version than any other.” Spider-Man Going movie.
