Tom Hanks teases ‘one of the saddest scenes I’ve ever seen’ in ‘Toy Story 5’ as cast meets for UK launch

Director Stanton admitted that he saw the plot of this film taking shape a long time ago. “When they asked me to do this assignment and I said, ‘Let me write something,’ and I didn’t know what I was going to write, I just said, ‘Let me see if there’s something there.'” One of the first things that came to mind was that I knew I wanted it to be about Jesse, and I knew that devices had been around for years with kids — they weren’t going away after the pandemic, and I knew that 50 Beats made me laugh.
