Tina Fey and her holiday-loving friends reckon with personal loss and midlife crises brought on by marriage in the trailer for Season 2 of the Netflix comedy The four seasonswhich dropped on Monday ahead of its May 28 premiere.

The new series teaser for Alan Alda’s 1981 film features old friends Kate (Faye), Jack (Will Forte), Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), Anne (Kerry Kinney Silver) and Jenny (Erika Henningsen) traveling to Italy and having other holiday reunions.

Hanging like a dark cloud over the close-knit friends is only the sudden death of Nick, played by Steve Carell, at the end of the first season. A year after that tragedy, the friends also visit the Jersey Shore and New York State during their sophomore season as old cases and new issues shake up the usual dynamics.

At one point, Kate tells Danny if she only had a dollar every time he told her “Oh, thank God I don’t have kids.” This prompted Domingo’s character to respond, “Girl, you want $60. Calm down.”

Jenny, who is in charge of handling Nick’s assets, admits that she cannot sell his boat because she has traded it for two donkeys. But there’s also plenty of toasting, kissing and hugging as couples come together with at least one child and possibly another while Dani and Claude consider adopting their child.

“We used Nick’s departure to launch us into this season, because it was really looming on the horizon,” said Lange Fisher, co-creator. “When you lose someone who is a staple, the group tends to lose its position,” said Lang Fisher, co-creator of the series with Fay and Tracy Wigfield. Todom.
