Metz will join the cast And Juliet As Angelique, the nurse and best friend of Juliet in the revised musical version of Shakespeare’s classic play. She joins the show on June 18 for a limited run through September 13, 2026.
Metz takes over the role from Janet Bayardel, who will play her final role on June 14. And Juliet It opened in November 2022 and will celebrate its 1,500th performance at the Stephen Sondheim Theater on June 23, 2026.
The musical, created by David Westread, reimagines Shakespeare’s tale as if Juliet had not killed herself and found a new life after Romeo. The show is set to a collection of Max Martin’s pop songs, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “I Want It That Way,” and “Confident.” The production is directed by Luke Sheppard with choreography Jennifer Weber.
“I am so excited to be making my Broadway debut, and doing so in a joyful show feels like an absolute dream come true,” Metz said. “I think some of the most serious, creative people work in live theatre, and, well, Broadway scares me a lot, which is why I’ve always wanted to do it.”
She joins a cast that includes Gianna Harris as Juliet, James Monroe Iglehart as Lance, Allison Love as Anne, Drew Gehling as Shakespeare, Michael Evan Carrere as May, Biardelli as Angelique, and William Pierce as Romeo.,And Nathan Levy as “François”.
