Often times, celebrities use their wealth for good and provide support to society. Bollywood legend, Akshay Kumar, is also one of the many names in the industry who enjoys doing charitable work.
However, he doesn’t like to talk about it much.
Akshay Kumar feels grateful that he can give back to the society
While guest starring in Aap Ki Adaalat last year, Rajat Sharma asked the actor why he doesn’t publicly announce his efforts and how he gives back to the society. He listed some of the things the actor has done in the past, stating, “Pichle 7 saal mein aapne Rs 76 crore se zyada seva ki rehti hain cancer ke liye, education ke liye, Flood Relief ke liye karodon rupaye aapne donate kiye” (In the last seven years, I have served more than Rs 76 crore).
She has donated millions of rupees to anti-cancer, education and flood relief efforts.)He then raised a question as to why the actor never reveals his good deeds and how he actively talks about making money, but never talks about giving back to society, on the other hand.To this the Bhoot Bangla actor at that time responded by saying, “Main kaise bolun? Kitna bewakoof sa lagunga agar main yeh kahoon ki are maine itne paise diye hai.”
Main yah kar raha hoon main woh kar raha hoon. Are you happy with your mother’s heart, what’s wrong with her? “Yeh mera saubhagya hai jo mujhe yah mila hai kaam karne ka” (How do I say it? I would look very stupid if I said: “Hey, I paid a lot of money. I’m doing this, I’m doing that”).
I have been given this opportunity to serve, and I am serving. I am lucky to have this opportunity to work.’)
Akshay Kumar talks about being a money minded person
In the same interview, the actor spoke about allegations of being a money person.
Talking about the same, the actor commented, “Agar paisa kamaya hai to loot ke nahin kamaya. Maine kaam karke kamaya hai. 8 saal se main sabse jyada Tax dene wala Celebration hun. To kya yeh mani-medied hone ka saboot hai? Paisa jindagi ka jaruri hissa hai, my job is honapadta hai” (If I had I made money, not by stealing.
I earned it through hard work. For eight years, I was the highest tax-paying celebrity.
Is this evidence of your concern for money? Money is an essential part of life; One has to be practical.)On the work front, the actor was last seen in the horror-comedy ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and is all set to appear in two big-budget hit films. First, he will appear in “Welcome to the Jungle,” which will be released later this month, and “Housefull 5,” which is currently in production.
