The dead will rise from the cursed pages of the Necronomicon Evil dead burning It has become the latest house confirmed for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Born from the 1981 indie classic, this installment in New Line Cinema’s ongoing series centering on the Book of the Dead — an ancient text that unleashes parasitic, supernatural demons that possess its victims, turning them “undead” — will appear as its own house at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood events.
HHN guests will be able to experience the franchise’s signature blend of intense gore and dark humor as they go on a first-hand journey through the Price family’s secluded vacation home in the woods. As attendees navigate sequences adapted from the film’s most terrifying moments, the nightmare will grow, with more and more of the ferocious dead lurking around every corner, culminating in a moment that promises to see guests “surrender” to the forces of evil themselves.
Evil dead burning It is the third major IP to be announced this year, with the film hitting theaters earlier this month. It will appear at the 2026 event alongside a series of original-themed houses, scare zones and the annual tram experience at Hollywood Park, as well as upcoming attractions. The latter, its own ’80s cult classic turned franchise, is a psychological horror originally adapted from Clive Barker’s 1986 novel. Hell heart. As part of HellraiserIn a first for HHN, guests will experience a home inspired by the first three films – Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth – with legendary Pinhead actor Doug Bradley reprising his character to lend his voice to homes on both coasts. Attendees will enter the famous Lament Configuration puzzle box, summon Cenobites and open a portal to a dimension filled with unspeakable horrors.
Fans will visit the mysterious attic of Frank Cotton’s family home, the place where he was first cast into Hell, as well as the unsettling Shannard Institute, where a puzzle box lures guests with its promise of forbidden pleasures before guests are eventually brought into the maze, where they will encounter Pinhead and the Cenobites as they await new souls to be tormented for eternity.
Halloween Horror Nights 2026 runs from August 27 to November 1 at Universal Orlando and from September 3 to November 1 at Universal Hollywood.
