The Bear is set to end with Season 5 on FX and Hulu

Bear He prepares to serve his final meals.

The FX-produced series, which streams on Hulu, is coming to a close with its upcoming fifth season. The Emmy Award-winning show is currently filming in and around Chicago and is scheduled to debut later this year; All past seasons premiered as binge releases in late June.

Jamie Lee Curtis, who won an Emmy Award for her recurring role as Carmi (Jeremy Allen White), Natalie’s (Abby Elliott) mother, said in an interview with Entertainment tonight Tuesday that the show was coming to an end: “It’s the end of the show,” she said in response to speculation about a Feb. 17 Instagram post in which she referred to “the completion of the story.” Bear. “Everyone knows it’s the end of the show. I’m not telling anyone any news. It’s the end of the show – they’ve said that from the beginning.”

FX declined to comment.

Signs have long indicated the limited extent of Bear. White has said in previous interviews that series creator Christopher Storer originally had a four-season storyline on the show. The season 4 finale was titled “Goodbye” and saw Carmi decide to leave his restaurant and cooking business altogether. It’s no coincidence that a show that so closely interweaves grief and trauma with workplace stories can’t keep airing those traumas forever.

FX has ordered a fifth season of Bear In July 2025, about a week after Season 4 premiered.

During his first three seasons, Bear It won 21 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series in 2023 — one of 10 Emmys it received that year — and acting honors for White, Curtis, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Jon Bernthal. Season 4 will be eligible for the 2026 Emmys in September.

The show’s cast also includes Lisa Colon Zayas, Lionel Boyce, Mattie Matheson, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Corey Hendricks. Storer executive produces with Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehdi, Tyson Bedner, Matty Matheson, Hiro Murai, and Renee Jobe. Courtney Storer is a culinary producer and associate producer. FX Productions is the studio.
