BBC TV series Hamburg daysabout the Beatles’ pre-fame origins playing in German nightclubs in the 1960s, delivered by the Fab Four.
Rhys Mannion has been cast to play John Lennon, Ellis Murphy will play Paul McCartney, newcomer Harvey Brett will play George Harrison, and Louis Landau will play Stu Sutcliffe, the drummer in the fledgling band who departs before replacement Ringo Starr takes over on drums. The legendary band continued to dominate the music industry for an entire decade from 1960.
The six-part drama from W&B Television and Turbine Studios also casts Patrick Gilmore as Pete Best, Luna Jordan as Astrid Kirchherr, Casper von Bülow as Klaus Voormann, and Laura Tonke as Nilsa Kirchherr, alongside Tristan Potter and Max von der Groeben.
The Beatles broke up in 1970 after a period of unbridled popularity. It is the best-selling musical of all time, with an estimated 600 million units sold worldwide. In December 1980, Lennon was shot to death outside his New York City apartment.

The stage version stars Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr.
Hamburg daysnow being filmed in Hamburg, Munich and Liverpool, is inspired by the autobiography of Klaus Voormann, and is directed by Christian Schuchow and stars Jamie Carragher (succession) as head writer. The series takes place in smoke-filled clubs in Hamburg’s red light district where young Liverpool men meet young artists Klaus Voormann and Astrid Kirchherr.
The Evolution of Benjamin Benedict Hamburg dayswhich will be directed by Chucho and Laura Lachman. Executive producer credits are shared by Benedict, Koerin Berg, Max Wiedemann, Andrew Eaton, Justin Thompson, Stuart Ford, Lourdes Diaz, and Miguel A. Palos Jr. The film is produced by Isabelle Hogue and Katarina Hassi.
