'The Batman Part II': Director Matt Reeves unveils returning cast starring Robert Pattinson

Director Matt Reeves has officially begun revealing the cast for The Batman Part II, starting with Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in the highly anticipated sequel.The director took to X on Wednesday to announce the returning cast members from the original 2022 hit, “The Batman.”

Reeves also confirmed that production on the sequel is set to begin in June.

Along with Pattinson reprising his role as Batman, the currently announced cast includes Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon,

Andy Serkis

As Alfred Pennyworth,

Colin Farrell

Like Oz Cobb, also known as the Penguin, Jaime Lawson as Bella Real, and Gil Perez Abraham as Officer Martinez.

Reeves also revealed that additional casting announcements, likely including new characters and major additions to the sequel, will follow on May 14.

Sebastian Stan

,

Scarlett Johansson

and Charles Dance have already been linked to the project, although there has been no official announcement from the filmmakers.

Stan recently made headlines when he confirmed his entry into the DC Universe following his role as the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Earlier this month, Reeves also shared a behind-the-scenes teaser for The Batman Part II, revealing test footage including the Batmobile. The post included the hashtag “#SnowTires,” suggesting that the sequel will be revealed during the winter. The film’s snowy atmosphere has sparked buzz about the potential return of iconic Batman villain Mr. Freeze. However, at the same time, the possibility of a villain appearing remains uncertain as Reeves stated that the central antagonist of the sequel will be a villain who has not previously appeared in other Batman films.

This left the door open for other potential characters to enter the capital.Batman Part II is currently scheduled for release in October 2027.
