The 72nd National Film Awards turned out to be a memorable day for Tamil cinema with the industry winning 10 awards in various categories. As congratulatory messages poured in from across the country, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.
Joseph Vijay extended his wishes to the filmmakers, actors and technicians who brought laurels to the state. His message celebrated the collective achievements of the Tamil film industry and recognized the talent behind some of the year’s most popular films.
Vijay congratulates all the winners
In a statement issued by the Tamil Nadu Information and Public Relations Department, Vijay congratulated each winner from the Tamil film industry.
His message read: “My heartfelt congratulations to the Tamil film fraternity for making history by winning 10 National Film Awards in various categories. It is a matter of great pride that Tamil cinema has received these accolades. I wish our film industry more such achievements in the coming years.”
” The Prime Minister also felicitated individual winners, including Dhanush for ‘Raayan’, Rajkumar Periyasamy, GV Prakash Kumar, R. Kalaivanan for “Amaran”, Anl Arasu and Sachana Namidass for “Maharaja”, Suren G for “Meiyazhagan”, and Hari Harasudhan for the short film “Blue”.

Vijay’s congratulatory message was warmly received by many National Award winners. “Amaran” director Rajkumar Periyasamy acknowledged the Prime Minister’s gesture regarding X, writing: “Many thanks to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for his wishes.” Composer GV Prakash Kumar, who won the National Award for Best Music Direction (Background Score) for the song ‘Amaran’, also expressed his gratitude after receiving Vijay’s wishes.
The exchange added another celebratory moment to the success of Tamil cinema at this year’s National Film Awards.
