Dancing with the stars is back for another season, and the first casting announcement for the ABC dance competition is making headlines.
Summer house Stars Ciara Miller and Maura Higgins (Traitors, Love Island) are the first two famous cast members to join Season 35. ABC announced the renewal and early castings on Wednesday during Hulu’s Get Real House 2026 preview, highlighting the streaming device and ABC’s unscripted slate.
DWTS It will return this fall on ABC and Disney+, and will stream the following day on Hulu. The full cast of celebrities and professional dancers will be announced at a later date.
Miller is a coup for DWTS It taps into the long-running ABC reality series and enjoyed a resurgence last season. After 20 years on the air… DWTS It made a huge comeback with renewed ratings for Season 34 and an all-time high audience engagement which the show’s production team attributed to boosts from TikTok and social media, as well as the cast. The season also achieved its highest final result in 10 years.
Miller’s casting continues that trend, as the Bravo group that has already made itself a fan favorite is currently emerging from a scandal rocking the Bravosphere with a wave of audience support. All eyes have been on the stunning ICU nurse-turned-model ever since she was shocked by the new relationship between two of her co-stars: former best friend Amanda Batula and Miller’s ex-boyfriend West Wilson. the Summer house The scandal will be addressed during the upcoming reunion of the current broadcast season, where Miller will attend.
There has been speculation that Miller might be the next star Bachelorette. With that franchise on hold after its 22nd season was canceled with planned star Taylor Frankie Ball, DWTS Now it’s over with Bravo’s exciting casting.
Also on the heels of last season’s success, ABC announced Wednesday that it is expanding Dance in franchise with a new competition series centered around aspiring professional dancers.
Dancing with the Stars: The Next Professionalhosted by Season 34 winner Robert Irwin, will move 12 up-and-coming dancers into one house where they will compete in a “grueling audition process” to earn a spot as professional dancers on Season 35. DWTS Champion Mark Ballas and his mother, Shirley Ballas, are the judges, with returning professionals (to be announced at a later date) who will take turns as mentors and guest judges.
The series will air this summer, premiering July 13 at 8pm on ABC, and will stream the next day on Hulu.
Miller has appeared in Summer house For five consecutive seasons. She also starred on NBC’s hit show Traitors Season 3, in addition to her work as a model and red carpet host. International talent Higgins is also enjoying a cultural moment after finishing second Traitors Season four. the Love Island STar was the first UK islander to cross over to the American series, where she hosts Love Island USA: After the Sun and Love Island: After the Sun games.
Irwin, known as a wildlife conservation enthusiast, is the latest Len Goodman Mirrorball champion. Ballas’ career as a performer spans television, Broadway, dance, and music. He was a pro at hacking DWTS For more than a decade, he has won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography. As it appeared in Traitors Season four. Mum Shirley is a champion ballroom dancer, world-famous dance teacher and BBC1 chief judge Strictly Come Dancing.
