This simple, modern haircare collection isn’t what you’d expect from the artist responsible for the ’80s-inspired hairstyles, spiral curls, and bowl cuts that helped define hair. Strange things. The series wrapped its fifth and final season in late 2025, with a new animated show – Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 – set to debut next month. But that’s exactly what Emmy-nominated hair stylist Sarah Hindsgaul envisioned with her new eponymous line, Hindsgaul Hair.

“Life is busy, especially my actors on set,” says Hindsgoll, who is married to series creator Matt Dover. “These are simple, everyday, easy products designed to give hair a reset and establish a foundation – a clean canvas to work with from the beginning.”

She returned to her Danish roots for key ingredients. “It was very important for me to bring something from home.” It also focused on the effectiveness of the skin care level. “Cloudberry is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids and helps boost hair vitality and strength, and Nordic Cotton helps reduce signs of environmental stress.”

Her philosophy is to embrace what you’re born with, and she’s infused this ethos into her minimalist four-piece collection including The Scalp Scrub Shampoo, The Mask Conditioner, The Mousse Soft Hold and The Puff Dry Shampoo, which is applied to the hair for a mess-free application. “There is a lot of soul and individuality in my work, so I encourage people to love the fabric they were born with and learn how to work with it,” she adds. “These products help provide movement and shine.”

While many brand founders must rely heavily on friends and family to test products and gather feedback during the formulation process, Hindsjaul was lucky to have a highly engaged audience: Strange things He slanders.

“I was able to use the products on the actors in real time, and they served as a focus group for me,” she says. “I’m grateful to have been a part of this process, and I’m also fortunate to have so many stylists on my team who have given me honest and truthful feedback.”

Staff members were also vocal about the importance of thoughtful formulations. “Sadie (who plays Max) was very clear about what came into contact with her skin and hair; it had to be clean and she wiped everything down.”

The male actors’ locks were badly battered during filming. “We put them in salt water, dust and cement, so they really appreciated the scalp exfoliating shampoo, which was a reset for them, and then they loved the hair mask conditioner.”

The staff agreed on many aspects of the products, and had specific suggestions, with one product in particular. “They all said mousse couldn’t make their hair sticky, because I had made their hair stiff and tacky with mousse for years so it would be true to the show.”

She says the actors overwhelmingly approved of the attractive scent. “They are obsessed,” she adds. A blend of citrus, violet and radiant musk, it was created by the famous French perfumer Jerome Epinet, who is also the expert of the famous perfume brand Liis. “Liis’ founders, Alyssa and Leslie, inspired me and gave me the courage to create my own line.”

After nine years of shaping the look Strange thingsShe puts all her energy into the new job. “It’s my whole life now — it’s like a newborn,” says Hindsgoll, who shares two children with Dover. “I’m a big believer in stabilizing yourself so you’re ready to step into your next big project.”
