“Maybe they gave me a gift,” says Colbert, photographed on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater building. “If I decide to end the show, I’m the bad guy — it’s hard to make jokes about that.”

“I knew the show had to end at some point, and I didn’t expect it to end this way,” says Colbert, who was photographed pointing his finger at the Trump Building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

“They were great partners. But I said, ‘I don’t understand.’ It hadn’t been two years since I signed my last contract, and they were excited to lock me up,” recalls Colbert, who was photographed in the basement of the Ed Sullivan Theater.
