'Star Wars' timeline explained: Where 'The Mandalorian and Grogu' fit into the galactic saga

With The Mandalorian and Grogu now in theaters, fans around the world are revisiting the entire Star Wars universe and wondering exactly where the new film fits into the sprawling galactic timeline.

The franchise has grown significantly over the decades, and now includes 19 different live-action films and series, spanning nine main episodes, three spin-offs, and seven streaming series. For anyone looking to watch everything in the correct order, the official sequential list has been confirmed and here’s a full breakdown.

1. “The Assistant”

Released in the year 2024, this six-episode series takes place 100 years before “The Phantom Menace.”

2. “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”

8 “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”
