After Universal pulled it M3GAN spin off Soulm8te Kicking off its release calendar, Blumhouse Atomic Monster is sending the AI-driven sci-fi thriller straight to home video.
Title from director and co-writer Kate Dolan (You are not my mother), will be released exclusively on digital platforms starting August 1.
The deal with Universal Pictures Home Entertainment follows the Blumhouse deal M3GAN 2.0 It blew up at the box office last summer.
“Kate Dolan expertly blends technological paranoia with thrilling thrills,” Blumhouse Atomic Monster producer and CEO Jason Blum said in a statement. In her statement, Dolan highlighted the virtues of the home entertainment release. “Soulm8te It is a film about that vicious cycle. It is a satirical and unsettling film that explores desire, obsession, independence and control.
