Sony Pictures TV buys majority stake in ‘The Valley’ and ‘Vanderpump Rules’ producer 32 Flavors

Sony Pictures Television is strengthening its unscripted division. The studio has acquired a majority stake in 32 Flavors, the production company behind Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules and Valley.

Founded in 2023 by Alex Baskin, 32 Flavors also produces two Real Housewives Series (Beverly Hills and Orange County) and Still flipping out For Bravo, Hulu and Freeform’s I love you Nader (starting with the upcoming second season) and podcasts Shut up, Ivan For Netflix.

“Alex is one of the most passionate and hard-working people in the business, with a proven track record of building durable, culturally stimulating franchises,” Sony Pictures Television Studios President Katherine Pope said in a statement. “This transaction reflects our broader strategy to invest in best-in-class creative talent and expand the scope of distinctive, globally relevant intellectual property. As the market evolves, we see a real opportunity in premium nonfiction, and 32 Flavors strengthens our ability to deliver high-impact, relatable formats that connect with audiences and buyers around the world.”

Bob took over oversight of Sony’s nonfiction efforts following the departure of Sony Pictures Television Nonfiction presidents Eli Holzman and Aaron Seidman earlier this year. Baskin will continue as CEO of 32 Flavors as it falls under the Sony umbrella, and the company’s leadership team will remain intact.

“32 Flavors has been on a great trajectory, and with Sony’s support, we expect this momentum to accelerate significantly,” Baskin said. “The company is built on a clear creative vision and a proven track record of creating and sustaining culturally resonant programming across formats, and Sony’s scale, proven track record, and talent-first approach allow us to build on that momentum on a larger scale without compromising the integrity and entrepreneurial spirit that defines the company.”

Sony’s unlisted division includes production companies Sharp Entertainment, Embassy Row, B17 Entertainment, 19 Entertainment, This Machine, Maxine Productions, Brass Monkeys Media and Rebel Minds Media. produce American Idol (with Fremantle), Shark tank and 90 day fiance Franchise, among other offers.
