Sherri Shepherd has officially signed on to her daytime talk show, Cherry.
Following her final performance on Thursday, Shepard took to Instagram Friday to write a farewell message to her journey on the show.
“My family!!!! Thank you so much for all the love and support over the past four years,” she wrote as a caption to a video, which included her walking through an empty studio. “It was a bittersweet end to a life I knew so well. But these are new beginnings… If you think you’re tired of me before you just wait.”
Taraji P. Henson, Niecy Nash, Lena Waithe, Donnie Wahlberg, Jennie Garth, Constance Zimmer, and more left comments in support.
It was first reported in February that Debmar-Mercury, the TV production joint venture owned by Lionsgate, would cancel Cherry After four seasons.
“This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect the strength of the show or its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,” Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus said in a statement at the time. “We believe in this offer and Bashiri and intend to explore alternatives to it on other platforms.”
Two days later, Shepherd took to Instagram to announce that she was “absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love” for her and the family. Cherry displays.
Cherry The cancellation came just hours after NBCUniversal announced its plans to terminate The Kelly Clarkson Show The following seventh season.
Thursday night was also Stephen Colbert’s last Late night displays.
