Shameer Tandon recalls Asha Bhosle's emotional words:

The demise of legendary singer Asha Bhosle has left the music industry in deep mourning. As tributes poured in, music director Shameer Tandon spoke about his close relationship with the icon, recalling her deeply emotional lyrics from their recent collaboration. He also shared a poignant memory related to one of her recent Hindi songs. “Asha Tai has always been like a mother to me,” Tandon said, describing their personal bond.

As tributes poured in, music director Shameer Tandon spoke about his close relationship with the icon, recalling her deeply emotional lyrics from their recent collaboration.Speaking to ANI, Tandon said, “My journey with Aai started in 2003 when she sang my song for the film Page 3, which was a National Award-winning film.”He also shared a poignant memory related to one of her last Hindi songs, “I composed one of her last songs in Hindi, which was written by my dear friend Prasun Joshi. Usko bol hai ‘Jaane Do, Jaane Do, Khud Se Milna Hai, Jaane Do’. Isse woh bahut Relation karti thi.”

Woh kehti thi ki ab bas bahut ho gaya, ab mujhe bahut ache tarike se chale jana hai. Khud se milena jana hai…”Explaining her words, he added, “The lyrics of the song were like Jaane Do, Jaane Do, Khud Se Milna Hai, Jaane Do.” She was attached to her and was saying that now she wanted to leave in peace and find herself again.”

“Asha tai nahi, meri aye thee”

Describing their personal bond, Tandon said, “Asha Tai has always been like a mother to me. The world used to call her ‘Tai’, but I used to call her ‘Aye’.”

In Marathi, “Aye” means mother. Whenever I went to her house, I would talk to her for hours.“This loss is not limited to India or the Indian film industry only. It is a loss to the world because it was very unique in its own way. It taught the whole world that innovation is very important in music,” he added.

Asha Bhosle died in Mumbai at the age of 92. She was admitted to British Candy Hospital after suffering from severe fatigue and a chest infection.Her son Anand Bhosle shared details about the final rites and asked fans to avoid crowding. “Tomorrow, from 10:30 am to 2 pm, people can come and take last darshan of my mother at Casa Grande building. At 4 pm, her last rites will be performed at the crematorium. I request people not to gather there, as there are chances of crowding.”
